Mental Health Awareness

Spotting signs and symptoms of mental health

We explore the concept of mental health and good mental hygiene and outline the signs of when mental wellbeing is less than optimal, and the steps that can be taken to reinforce resilience or support someone else who might be struggling. We think about the barriers to addressing mental health setbacks and how participants can begin to overcome them.

Burnout

In this workshop, we look at what burnout is, where it comes from, and offer tools to help individuals and teams develop resilience skills. We take a holistic, systemic view of burnout, in which it’s not only the responsibility of the individual to avoid burnout but a team effort.

Building Resilience

The ability to carry on and thrive in the face of adversity

Aiming to help participants assess and improve their resilience, with a focus on both the workplace and life more generally. Includes how to identify and enhance existing strengths, maximise resources and how to reduce factors that might impair resilience. We offer the space to reflect on threats to resilience and how to cope with those unexpected challenges to resilience.

Consider examples of mind and body-related activities that can drain or boost our mood, and share evidence-based, proven strategies in achieving mindset shift. We take a positive approach to individual and team wellbeing by incorporating meaning and values which help in feeling more engaged, vibrant and fulfilled.

Taming Anxiety

In this workshop, we identify the signs and symptoms of persistent and harmful anxiety and offer compassionate approaches to help confront anxieties. Using evidence-based techniques, we illustrate the anxious mindset, what maintains it and how to address it with practical, accessible strategies and exercises for mind and body.

Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention

Addressing the need to talk about suicide and suicidal thoughts, we build motivation and confidence in addressing the issues that can contribute to this. This also includes how to look after yourself and others, with practical information around managing conversations and providing support within their means. The aim is to facilitate confidence in speaking about suicide, and our specialists will encourage conversations around this difficult topic.

Trauma Awareness

Many people have to live with trauma in their background and we discuss strategies to manage and look after yourself day to day. It also includes strategies for people who support others who have experienced trauma and how the workplace can best look after their employees.

The session will offer a range of tools to help with managing conflict and ways to repair ruptures more effectively once they have occurred.

Grief and Loss

We sensitively consider our own fears or barriers to talking about death and dying, and tools for looking after our wellbeing. We introduce models to deepen understanding of the grief process and share practical tips for having conversations around loss and what can be done for the bereaved whether it’s yourself, an employee or your team.

Leadership

Effective Leadership

This explores what makes an effective leader and how to reflect on one’s own management style. We also take time to think about the complexities of management and use scenarios to explore different ways to manage these. This workshop aims to leave both new and seasoned managers feeling more confident and equipped to deal with the challenges of management.

Mental Health Awareness for Managers

This looks at the framework managers can adopt to allow employees to be as healthy and productive as they can be. It includes steps that can be taken across all levels and for both teams and individuals. Our aim for this session is to deliver a workshop which facilitates managers to develop qualities, processes and skills. This will lead to managers feeling more confident in having difficult conversations around mental health with employees and how to support them.

Managing Difficult Conversations

This workshop aims to improve confidence in having difficult conversations with others. Whether it is checking in with how they are or having to bring up a difficult topic, many people struggle with knowing the right way to have these conversations. This workshop aims to remove the anxiety around having difficult conversations and equip people with the knowledge and skills to be a supportive colleague.

Life Skills

Overcoming Perfectionism

This workshop teaches how to delineate between healthy striving and perfectionism. Participants will learn to objectively assess the helpfulness of the underlying beliefs that drive perfectionism, in order to become more accepting of the self and others regardless of performance.

Work-Life Balance

Struggling with the demands of multiple roles is a common problem and the consequences on mental health can be detrimental. Yet it can be extremely hard to create a healthy work-life balance. These workshops help people look at how to manage these tensions, deploy our energy and create more balance whilst still being high performers.

Coping with Transitions

This workshop is centred around helping participants cope with change and transitions in a more effective way, and how the workplace can implement change in a healthy way. We explore how people are affected by change and how to build up coping strategies that will help them better adapt to ever-changing environments.

Participants engage in mindfulness practice together so people experience the benefits and can learn to do it by themselves.

Stress Management

This workshop looks at the science behind stress and its effect on our minds and our bodies. We will be exploring the causes of stress and the body’s stress response, as well as providing a stress management toolbox which will enable participants to deal with it more effectively in a variety of contexts.
